His paintings are either serious or very humorous, whatever strikes him at the moment. JimTweedy.com sells everything created by Jim Tweedy which includes all of his original paintings, archival fine art prints and merchandise. He has many different series that he has created over the last three decades including paintings he is currently working on the subjects for which he will have new and future limited editions prints.
Jim Tweedy is a very versatile artist, uses many different mediums and loves both serious as well as humorous subjects. His serious subjects are his acrylic on canvas Athletes in Action and his Polo series. For his Athletes in Action he has been commissioned to paint football, baseball, lacrosse, gymnastics and ballet so far but he loves all sports and will take commissions for any and all sports. In fact, Jim Tweedy will consider painting commissions for anything you are interested in having him paint.
His humorous paintings fall into four series, Friendly Doggies, Boozehounds, Self Portrait and pen and ink newspaper comics. His Friendly Doggies series consists of either watercolor or acrylic on canvas. These include fine art giclées, canvas and paper prints as well as merchandise. The Boozehounds are acrylic on canvas paintings from which limited and open edition prints will soon be available so stay tuned for that.
Jim Tweedy’s third series is his super popular watercolor series called, Self Portrait which features a variety of Dog Breeds and Collegiate Mascots. The Collegiate Mascots include portraits of different school mascots (not just dogs).
Another series Jim Tweedy is known for are his pen and ink newspaper comics. This is a series of giclée prints made from his humourous weekly original newspaper drawings.
